Monsoon Con 2023: The Ultimate Gathering for Weather and Photography Lovers Returns to Tucson, Arizona

Tucson, Arizona - The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum was selected once again as the venue for the annual Monsoon Con conference on June 24th, 2023. This event brings together a diverse group of professionals and enthusiasts who share a passion for weather, storm chasing, photography, and meteorology.

Monsoon Con promises to be an exciting and informative conference featuring engaging speakers and networking opportunities. Keynote Speaker John Sirlin is a leading storm chaser and photographer whose work has been prominently featured on Good Morning America, the Weather Channel, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, and local news stations throughout the country.  Other speakers include Tucson’s own passionate professional photographers Greg McCown, Melissa Wambolt and Kate Dibildox.  Flagstaff resident Jeremy Perez brings a special slice of science to the event, and retired meteorologist/ John Fausett brings decades of knowledge of forecasting the monsoon in the Chihuahuan and Sonoran Deserts.  Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from and engage with some of these leading experts in the field, as well as fellow enthusiasts who share their interests.

Finally, because of the inherent mission to work together to save lives during days of severe weather, the National Weather Service Tucson office will speak on topics aimed at safe weather watching and reporting.
